Description
This iconic Marlborough winery has been crafting some of Marlborough’s most superbly made and complex wine for more than 20 years. This 2021 Chardonnay is elegant yet powerful, with intense fruit, perfect for drinking over the next 12 months, but will cellar beautifully as well. From exceptional terroir deep in the centre of Marlborough Wairau Valley sub-region, the grapes were handpicked, before barrel fermentation and ageing in 100% French Oak for 10 months. It is offered via our “Hidden Label” program to protect this legendary Marlborough & NZ winemaker from negative brand impact that often arises from deep cut discounting, even in such trying economic times. Legendary reputation is hard earned and can be quickly eroded. We’ve been protecting many of NZ’s elite brands since 2007 via our legendary Hidden Label program. Smells
A beautifully generous and detailed nose showing ripe stone fruits, grapefruit, Anzac biscuit, roasted hazelnut and brioche.
Tastes
Full bodied, creamy and generous with a lovely, biscuity lees character and a long, refined finish with hints of butterscotch. Amazing Chardonnay with layers of complexity that will convert even the staunchest ABCs! This is one to put in your cellar for 5-8 years plus and reap the rewards. The perfect partner to creamy pasta dishes.
