Description
Isabel Wild Barrique Chardonnay 2020 was our second top-equal wine at the Fine Wine Annual Chardonnay Tasting, and what an exceptional showing! Though two very different wines shared the second spot, both were equally captivating and stunning. This vibrant and award-winning style is from Mendoza Clone 30+ year old vines, is 100% wild fermented in a mix of puncheons and barriques before it spends a year in barrel undergoing malolactic fermentation and extended time on lees. A project winemaker Jeremy McKenzie has been working on for several years, selecting small parcels of fruit each year to go into this stunning wine. No rush to drink, buy a few bottles and lose in your cellar and reap the rewards.
