Description
For the last 140 years, Maison Joseph Drouhin has been in the hands of the Drouhin family. Joseph Drouhin has adopted both an organic and biodynamic approach, only natural products are used in the vineyards and all procedures show the utmost respect for the soil, the vine, and the environment. Heritage, tradition and environmental awareness, well done. Puligny Montrachet is a Chardonnay Village that produces some of the best Chardonnays in the world. This is a village wine from the outstanding 2020 vintage. Best cellared for 3-5 years and will drink well through 2030. Serve with white meats or pasta.
Smells
aromas of spring flowers, nashi pear, white fleshed nectarines and hints of vanilla and toast.
Tastes
this is a wine of great finesse and a classic example of Puligny Montrachet, which also speaks of the quality of the 2020 vintage. The palate is ripe yet interspliced with lemon and apple flavours, delicate smoky notes, crushed stones, and toasted sourdough flavours suggestive of the barrel maturation. Densely structure but brightened by the zesty acidity, a wine with many years ahead.
