Description
With Mission Estate’s massive and progressive investment into climate sustainability initiatives across the entire gambit of wine growing & making from the ground to the glass… this classy barrel fermented Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay should be selling for much more. Not just based on their costly climate change program, but also on the outstanding quality of this Chardonnay selling at its more everyday price. As we are all contemplating our economic climate and feeling the impact, it’s Mission Estate to the rescue with this superbly made, finely buttered, richly lees influenced, yet generously fruited Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay. Delightful from go to whoa it delivers an experience closer to $30.00. In fact, we believe, after just one sip, it’s likely you’ll make it your regular Chardonnay. It’s likely to return any ABC (anything but Chardonnay) drinkers back to the fold. 2022 yielded some lovely Chardonnays from Hawkes Bay, add Mission Estate Gaia Project Chardonnay to that list.
Smells
Warm, rich aromas of peach skin, nectarines, hazelnut butter and dried summer hay.
Tastes
Soft and generous with excellent structure embracing ripe peach, nectarine, hazelnut butter and finely integrated toasty oak. A fresh, subtle burst of citrus finish adds to the long-detailed and creamy ending that just keeps giving. Serve with cheese and summer salads… or just drink unaccompanied!
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
