Description
Founded in 1989 by winemaker Martin Shaw and Master of Wine Michael Hill Smith, Shaw + Smith has firmly established itself as an iconic producer, propelling the Adelaide Hills onto the global wine stage. Known for crafting showstopping wines, Shaw + Smith embodies the excellence of this cool-climate oasis in South Australia. With three meticulously managed vineyards—Balhannah, Lenswood, and Piccadilly—spanning 59 hectares, they focus on varieties that thrive in the region's unique terroir. These include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Shiraz, each showcasing the exceptional quality and finesse for which Shaw + Smith is celebrated worldwide.
Smells
aromas of white flowers, lemons and limes and stone fruit nuances.
Tastes
a flavourful and intense Chardonnay showing restraint and elegance as well as the ability to age. There are flavours of ginger and orange zest with hints of nectarines expressed throughout, giving way to a fresh, bright acidity and a long finely chiseled finish. Superb now through 2029. Serve with cheese, fish or pasta. The recommended serving temperature is 10-13 degrees.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
