Description
This very popular Co-Ordinates (reference to the longitude/latitude of vineyard) Chardonnay was previously called Prospect… and is made to the same buttery, peachy, creamy, nougat and nutty style by regional Gisborne Chardonnay guru Steve Voysey. Steve crafted those legendary buttery Gisborne ‘O’ Chardonnays of the 80’s & 90’s. He artfully marries superb pure fruit with barrel fermentation in French oak, a judicious 15% new barrels in the mix. Then leaves it to age on lees in barrel for 10 more months. The fruit is off the legendary Patutahi/Ormond vineyards. This delicious Chardonnay is ready to enjoy as a rich, full-bodied style, uber approachable and too easy to drink. But will age gracefully up to 4-5 years.
Smells
Pure peach with nougat, hazelnut butter and light toast – utterly enticing aromas.
Tastes
Deliciously creamy on entry and gorgeously fresh on the finish. The fat, buttery mid palate is layered with a complex and seductive array of Golden peach, nougat, hazelnut butter, toasty oak, and fine citrus flavours. It seduces with its buttery, nutty peachy, creamy palate and invites you to come back to the glass apropos its lovely fresh finish.
