Description
Fat on the palate, sassy on the finish is how Tony Bish describes this extremely popular Chardonnay... deliberately crafted and perfected by the Hawkes Bay Chardonnay Master over many vintages. It has the generosity, fruit, oak and buttery elements achieved with greater dryness and balance than many of the popular Californian imports. A third is aged in large oak cuves... a third in oak barriques... all from the sensational French oak producer Taransaud. Full lees stirring and malolactic fermentation enhances the creamy, buttery notes that permeate the pure stone & citrus fruit. These winemaking specs are a considerable step up from the majority of like priced Chardonnay... the balance and engaging dryness on the finish reflects that! Tony combines pure fruit, buttery and creamy elements and finesse in a Chardonnay you'll never tire of.
Smells
Gorgeous smells of peaches, nectarines, citrus, cinnamon, nutmeg and nutty notes.
Tastes
Fat and rich on the palate as the name suggests, layers of stone fruits, butter and lemon-curd unravel with beautiful nutty and spicy edges. The creamy texture carries the flavours through the palate to a rich, finely buttered, toasty, dry finish. Enjoy now through 2027 on a regular basis with your favourite white meat & poultry creations... equally delectable by itself. For optimal drinking pleasure, the recommended serving temperature is 10-13 degrees.
