Description
With fruit from the cooler Keltern Vineyard and the warmer Lyons Vineyard on the Gimblett Gravels, this is a more elegant and graceful style with fantastic acidity and focus. The 2012 vintage wasn't plain sailing in the Bay, but wines like this are evidence that with top winemakers, dedicated vineyard managers and a willingness to sacrifice quantity for quality, great wines can and will still be made.
Smells
A classy and complex nose showing mineral notes and grapefruit zest, with florals, white peach and fennel.
Tastes
Fine and driven with excellent line and length, the palate is elegant and refined with subtle power and flinty, mineral complexity building to a long, nutty, smoky finish. A class act to enjoy between now and 2019.
