Description
Xanadu Estate Chardonnay exemplifies the pinnacle of Australian winemaking. Made from Gingin clone Chardonnay, it is whole bunch pressed and barrel fermented in select French oak barriques (25% new oak). The wine undergoes wild fermentation and a nine-month oak maturation without malolactic fermentation. This process imparts subtle vanilla and smoky aromas, enhancing its natural fruit characteristics. With a smooth, lingering finish, it pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes, from fresh fish to creamy pasta. Smells
The bouquet is elegant yet resonates with delicate aromas of white-fleshed stone fruits, lemon and lime citrus, white lilies with hints of sea spray and wet stone.
Tastes
The palate is medium-bodied, and the flavours mirror the bouquet, white peach and lemon/lime, complemented by a crystalline, acid thread. Sophistication in the glass and for optimal drinking pleasure serve at 7-10 degrees.
