Description
Crafted by the expert hands of the Donaldson family at the Iconic Pegasus Bay winery in Waipara. Adding a mix of barrel and wild yeast ferment and it drinks so much more completely than other Gewurztraminer. This 2024 was picked ripe resulting in an intensely floral, spicy wine with rich ginger and has a delicious, honeyed botrytis thread permeating its luscious fruit... finishing off-dry. Although it will match numerous white meat and seafood dishes it is equally appealing as a chilled white to enjoy at the end of a busy day.
Smells
A very exotic nose packed with ripe stone fruit, Turkish delight, rose water, ginger, and mixed baking spices.
Tastes
Luscious and honeyed from start to finish with a complex amalgam of toffee apple, lychees, hints of nashi pear and a rich core of ginger spice, enjoy through to 2027. A powerful wine that will cellar and even make for a dynamic aperitif, especially when served with foie gras.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
