Description

With a credo of "no compromise", Misha and Andy Wilkinson's winemaking operation was off to a great start when they planted on the rugged slopes of Bendigo overlooking Lake Dunstan. Winemaker Olly Masters was the other vital spoke in the wheel, his experience with Ata Rangi standing him in good stead with Pinot Noir and aromatic whites. This 2023 Gallery Gewurztraminer has exceptional purity of fruit and a gossamer, off-dry palate that complements the exotic spices and fruits.

Smells

it smells exactly how you want Gew to smell, rose petals abound, Turkish delight, lychees with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Drinking well now through 2029.

Tastes

a rich, oily style, perhaps a tad drier than previous vintages but where the balance is impeccable. Rich and full-bodied with an amazing length that goes on forever giving a warming effect to the back of your throat. Pure pleasure the whole way….. Those same exotic fruit flavours persist on the palate with an oily texture that coats the tastebuds. Gew is all about the finish as the acid is typically low, and this exemplifies all that is great about the variety. Drinking well now and for the next 4-5 years, the perfect partner for all Asian cuisine. The recommended serving temperature is 7-10 degrees.
