Description

A phenomenal Receivership Liquidation… an EXCLUSIVE and pristine parcel of the Bob Campbell MW 96/100 rated 2009 Vinoptima Grand Cru Gewürztraminer – the final act in the LEGACY of this Grand Cru, Alsace styled Famous Single Vineyard Gisborne Gewürztraminer. Vinoptima founder/owner Nick Nobilo is cashing up the final receivers’ settlement stocks of his prized Grand Cru Gewürztraminer exclusively to Fine Wine Delivery customers at a phenomenal $19.99 bottle. It is the original Prestige Grand Cru from the stunning 2009 vintage - Rated 96/100 Bob Campbell plus the following Robert Parker Wine Advocate Review “a stunning expression of Gewürztraminer, adopting an Alsatian style rather than anything from the New World”. It is packaged in its original/exotic Grand Cru bottles and expensive labels… it’s the real deal! When Nick offered us exclusivity to cash up these last ever stocks of his prized 2009 vintage, we requested and received 6 tasting bottles randomly selected from 6 different pallets so we could check against bottle variation… and ascertain the overall condition of the wine. We can hand on heart report all 6 bottles were in pristine condition – such was the freshness we felt they could age a further 6-10 years in quality storage. The quality, consistency and freshness can be attributed to two things - 1. The absolute quality of the vintage, harvesting and winemaking - 2. In keeping with its Grand Cru status and original price… the bottles were sealed with expensive 2-inch-long corks ensuring pristine condition has been maintained. The corks are long and tight fitting and will take a strong hand to pull them out with a Pull Tap corkscrew. They are in perfect condition with no signs of drying out. It’s a once in a generation windfall to experience an expensively crafted Grand Cru Alsace styled Gewürztraminer aged 15-years, in the peak of its drinking condition with zero variability and phenomenally at the staggering liquidation price of $19.99 bottle. It’s Exclusive to Fine Wine Delivery customers.

Smells

Exotic perfumes that speak of citrus zest, lychee, papaya, fennel, rose petal and pineapple.

Tastes

Luscious, full-bodied, supremely silky, with beautifully decadent honeyed nuances developing around its exotic and spice laden palate, this 2009 is immaculately balanced with a finish that goes on and on... and on! It will provide exquisite pleasure now and potentially through 2030+ if kept in even cellar conditions.

Absolutely delightful gewürztraminer that has the perfect balance between dryness and sweetness. A bargain at the price.

This is an outstanding (unusually old) white wine at a sacrificial price. Opening the bottle is a challenge - a crumbly 15-year-old cork that does NOT want to come out. Nasty. Once you get past that, this is a superb wine. Highly recommended.

An absolute steal. Got a case to Welly in double quick time and tried a bottle straight away. Wow - what a wine. Exotic spices on the nose and the palate but nothing overpowering. Balance and harmony abound in this wine. A touch of sweetness but at the same a lingering, dry finish. Pristine condition. Highly recommeded.
