Description
With a legacy dating back to 1321 under the reign of Pope John XXII, Châteauneuf-du-Pape earned its place in history when four barrels of wine were transported from the papal cellar to be filled in the region. New vines were planted, and the legend of "Papal Wine" was born. Today, Château de Beaucastel, a fifth-generation family estate, stands as one of the iconic stalwarts of the Rhône Valley. Their Côtes du Rhône Blanc is a masterful blend of 30% Viognier, 30% Marsanne, 30% Bourboulenc, and a touch of Clairette. The 2020 harvest delivered beautifully healthy, juicy, and ripe grapes with moderate alcohol levels, vibrant acidity, and superb balance—a testament to Beaucastel’s dedication to tradition and excellence.
Smells
an opulent and enticing bouquet exuding aromas of red apples, rock melon, honey and spice.
Tastes
a medium to full bodied white wine that is simply brilliant, a wonderful alternative to your everyday Chardonnay or Sav. The palate is lines with green nuances, olive branch and citrus flavours. The textural harmony and balance are striking. Drinking perfectly now through 2027 and will partner with cheese or white meats. The recommended serving temperature is 10-13 degrees.
