Description
Impossible to say the variety name but don't let that stop you trying this wine. You will be back for more. Second Generation winemaker Peter Barry first tasted the Santorini native grape variety Assyrtiko (A-sir-te-kok), whilst holidaying on the island in 2006. The crisp, racy, dry white wine reminded him of Clare Valley Riesling and thus began his involvement with the ancient variety. Many vine cuttings, custom quarantine and propagation followed, and finally, in August of 2012, the first vine was planted. The 2022 vintage is an absolute ripper, the best to date, with racy lemon acidity, mineral-driven texture, and great length – try with raw seafood or steamed mussels.
Smells
Orange blossom, lemon peel and apricot kernel aromas.
Tastes
Medium-bodied with racy acidity balanced by ripe stone fruit and impressive texture. Enjoy with fresh seafood through to 2026.
We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
