Champion Trophy + 2 Gold Medals NZIWS… Gold Medal Dish Magazine + 94/100 Cameron Douglas Master Sommelier. Leveret Estate wines are only produced in the best years, where the carefully selected fruit is deemed perfect for the quality requirements of their premium label. The grapes for this 2024 Viognier were sourced from naturally low-yielding vines located in Hawke’s Bay’s prized Bridge Pa sub-region. Gently pressed, the clarified juice was transferred for fermentation in largely stainless-steel tanks… a small batch in seasoned oak. The fruit purity and structure are exceptional, the barrel inspired texture brings mouth feel and weight to the delicious palate. Enjoy now… through 2027-2029.
Smells
Jasmine, lychee and apricot entice… while spice and subtle toast/nuttiness beguile.
Tastes
Wonderfully textured on the palate, with subtle florals, white nectarine/peach and baking spice delivering a varietally pure and generous Viognier experience. The palate is well balanced and moreish… and will match superbly with roast chicken or a feta & blue cheese inspired salad.
