Description
A single parcel of Albariño (pronounced “alba-reen-yo”) was handpicked from a small area of vines within the Villa Maria owned “Joseph Soler” Hawke’s Bay vineyard. Whole bunched pressed into a concrete egg vessel followed by wild yeast ferment and 12-months maturation, the result is a wine of incredible purity, concentration, mouthfeel, elegance and freshness. Seriously boutique production, this Triple 5 Star & Gold Medal winning Albariño is a true and exciting expression of this grape variety that is native to Spain and Portugal.
Smells
Golden pear, mandarin zest, and lime, with alluring notes of spice and florals.
Tastes
Vitality in a glass, with layers of peach, citrus and lychee, threaded with lime and fine minerality. Beautifully textural and with a long, dry finish it will be a stunning match to a range of seafood… and equally stunning by itself!
