Description
There are very few NZ Pinot Gris that achieve the level of depth, length, and sheer complexity that Dry River manages to master. Add to that an incredible ability to age like the great grand cru wines of Alsace and you have something truly brilliant and unique that will change your perception of this popular variety in NZ.
Smells
Notes of wild honey, nectarine and nougat are to the fore with hints of vanilla infused brioche underpinned by subtle ginger tones.
Tastes
The palate makes an instant impression…supreme weight, richness, and finesse with exotic layers of ripe peach, spiced red apples and toffee coated quince. Impressively structured, yet beautifully luscious and buoyant, this Pinot Gris enigma is so pure and stylish but will gain additional dimension over the next 5 -7 years…. Even longer if professionally stored.
