Description

The Hill-Smith family of Yalumba own Nautilus Estate in Marlborough and have instilled their famous culture of excellence. The wines are made by long-time winemaker Clive Jones, this Pinot Gris being a source of pride to Clive in his pursuit of Alsace like richness, purity, and texture with seductive dryness. Having tasted cellar stock of bottles up to 9-year-old of the Nautilus Pinot Gris, they showed the fabulous experience to be had if you’re prepared to age it a few years. Older vines and greater learnings mean this 2024 is next level.

Smells

Beautiful aromas of apples, pears, whole nutmeg, and alpine flowers.

Tastes

Very generously laden with pear and apple fruits with nutmeg and ginger spice complexities. A seductive textural feel throughout, the driving finish is salivating and perfectly dry. Enjoy through 2028 with roast poultry/white meat and lightly spiced dishes. The recommended serving temperature is 8-10 degrees.

We taste, rate & guarantee every wine we sell.
