So even though there are much more premium priced Pinot Gris entered in the annual Marlborough Wine Show… it’s not surprising to see Rapaura Springs Reserve take out the Champion Trophy for Best Pinot Gris of Show. With fruit sourced from three different sub-regions in Marlborough… Brancott – Awatere - Taylors Pass, the inter-regional characteristics combine to form a luscious off-dry style with abundant fruit richness and concentration while maintaining perfect balance of acidity and dryness. Absolutely delicious and 100% moreish.
Smells
Ripe tropical and stone fruit, guava, red apple, quince, honeysuckle, pear, and hints of beeswax.
Tastes
Lush tropical fruit layered with nectarine, and peach in a concentrated palate tinged with a touch of natural sweetness – simply delicious on every level with excellent freshness on the finish. A lovely match for summer salads, creamy cheeses, poultry dishes. Great drinking now through 2026.
