Description
Quality Pinot Gris has a very fulsome, satisfying, salivating palate - delicious to drink by itself… equally it will pair with a wide range of white meats, poultry and seafoods. Little wonder sales are rising in a flat wine market as new and old Pinot Gris drinkers are naturally discovering or rediscovering its virtues. The fruit for this stunning DRY Pinot Gris is a blend of the Rapaura and Awatere sub-regions crafted by Marlborough winemaking guru Dave Clouston. Lower fruit yields result in excellent concentration. Made in a pure fruited, fleshy, dry style… 3-months on light lees has given the wine lovely nutty and biscuity notes to go with its exotic stonefruit, pear and apple. Careful not to drink it all before dinner comes around.
Smells
Fragrant rose petal and baking spices, with white peach, red gala apples, nashi pears and quince.
Tastes
Crisp and dry to taste, the mid-palate fattens out with abundant ripe tree fruits threaded with subtle nut and appealing baking spices. It’s textbook Pinot Gris with perfectly balanced richness and minerality grandstanding throughout. Serve around 10-12 degrees (no less) so you don’t dumb down its delicious medley of flavours and crispy DRY finish. Serve with a wide range of white meats, poultry & seafood.
