Description

An historic icon of Australian wine, Pewsey Vale was the first Riesling vineyard planted in Eden Valley more than 175 years ago. Jancis Robinson describes Pewsey Vale Riesling as “one of South Australia’s most admired wine treasures.” Riesling is Pewsey Vale’s single focus. Naturally their undivided attention goes into making a Riesling that’s simply delicious. Every bottle captures the purity of a single site vineyard in Eden Valley where nature is left undisturbed to do its thing. Bone dry in style with an exciting mineral thread to it, it can be enjoyed young, vibrant and fresh or cellared for 25 years+ (providing pleasure the entire way). A superb example of the new, elegant Riesling style emerging from South Australia, really worth a try, striking purity, tension with richness and concentration, a wine of great vivacity.

Smells

Intense aromas of white flowers, fresh limes and a hint of fine dried herbs.

Tastes

A long, rich palate reminiscent of limes and fresh rosemary. The wine finishes with soft natural acidity which balances the flavour and minerality that is delicious now or will reward medium to long-term cellaring. Enjoy with fresh oysters, seared scallops, salt and pepper squid, Thai beef salad, or a tomato salad with pickled walnuts and fresh basil. The recommended serving temperature is 6-8 degrees.
