Description
Part of the famous Saint Clair Pioneer Block series, labelled Block 3, and where the name 43 degrees refers to the unusual northeast to southwest orientation of the rows, resulting in more shade to the grapes and a more herbaceous style of Sauvignon than the norm in Marlborough. If you like your Sauvignon pungent and herbal, then this single vineyard showcases the Dillons Point region and will be right up your alley. Another top example of the 2023 vintage from Saint Clair, a wine that packs a punch, super aromatic, lively, dry and crips.
Smells
Pungent blackcurrant and dried herb notes, with passionfruit and feijoa.
Tastes
Clean and detailed with lovely weight and texture, this is Sauvignon from the top shelf with a lovely pithy and refreshing finish. A very lively, salivating, textural Sav that speaks of the Dillons Point area and definitely a wine to seek out in warmer vintages as it delivers classic Marlborough cool climate characteristics. Striking aromas and has the wow factor on the palate. Drinking well now through 2027, with summer salads and/or seafood. The recommended serving temperature is 6-8 degrees.
