Description
Te Mata Cape Crest is an iconic wine, made in a barrel-fermented style that sees it being predominately Sauvignon Blanc with a touch of Semillon and Sauvignon Gris. The ripe, concentrated tropical Hawkes Bay fruit absorbs the French oak flavours beautifully, creating a wine of finesse, elegance, and superb concentration. Awesome when young, it improves for a decade from vintage at least.
Smells
Unmistakable aromas of passionfruit flower, grapefruit, blackcurrants, eastern spices, gooseberry, and fennel.
Tastes
Amazing texture and richness, with gentle cardamom suggestions mingling with succulent tropical fruit. Beautifully spicy and seriously long, this 2023 Cape Crest is just a baby, but already showing its quality, enjoy through to 10+ years. Serve with fresh fish, seafood, or summer salads.
