Description
The cool, dry climate of the Awatere Valley is famous for making intense Sauvignon Blanc and Tohu have exceptional vineyards in this distinctive terroir. Never backward in coming forwards, Tohu Sauvignon has become the darling of the wine shows in recent years, this 2023 has just been released, and what a showstopper. No doubt there will be a bevy of awards to accompany the accolades of the previous vintages.
Smells
punchy and vivid aromas of blackcurrant bud, passionflower, grapefruit, dried herbs, kiwifruit, and a dash of lemon zest.
Tastes
Crisp and intense on the palate, with a delicate balance of fleshy tropical fruit and refreshing acidity. Detailed and textured, the wine builds to a mouth-watering crescendo filled with crisp green apple. Great summer drinking, it will be right at home with Thai food (especially those dishes with a little sweet basil in them). Enjoy now and through 2025.
