This Highly Awarded Wairau River Sauvignon Blanc is the product of their Old Vines in concert with the stunning 2024 vintage… it will be joyous Savvy drinking this summer! Phil & Chris Rose planted their first vines in the Wairau River region of Marlborough four decades ago in 1978. Talk about growing and knowing your terroir, no one knows more about this Marlborough sub-region than the Roses. Now the quintessential family business... these days son, Hamish, grows it; another son, Sam, makes it and daughter, Caroline, runs their outstanding front-of-house cellar door and restaurant. When you know your land like the back of your hand... and your first vines were planted 40-years ago, with most of your 100% family-owned estate vineyards north of 20-years old... it leads to the making of outstanding Sauvignon Blanc like this 2024 release.
Smells
Intensely fragrant and zesty aromas of ripe citrus, grapefruit, tropical fruits, subtle sweet herbs, gun smoke and wet stones.
Tastes
